In late spring, I attended a unique event called the International Conference on Consciousness-Based Leadership and Management. It was hosted by Maharishi International University in Fairfield, IA.

There were many wonderful presentations but one really caught my attention! (This was likely because of its relevance to my work and how my work has evolved during CoVid and beyond.)

The speaker was Dr. David Orme-Johnson, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Maharishi International University, Fairfield, Iowa. He gave fascinating research-based data that we now know when the square root of 1% is meditating together, it positively impacts society (from a highly statistically significant result). As in decreased murders, rapes, assaults, robberies, vehicular fatalities, etc.

After I heard him speak, I did math!! And if my math is correct, here’s two calculations as “food for thought”:

Location Population

1%

Square root of 1%

Total World

7 billion

70,000,000

8,366 people!

Twin Cities

4,014,000

40,140

200 people!

In other words, it doesn’t take many people as collective consciousness to make a huge, beautiful difference. Are you amazed by this? I am!

Now, I’m on a mission to gather groups of significant numbers together … meditating and “holding space” for a beautiful, higher conscious future. Yes, we can create this … together!
