In the harp world, many harpists take their playing and work seriously. And, we also have a sense of humor!!

A joke I frequently tell at my gigs is … harpists, with all our strings, spend half of our life tuning, and the other half of our life, playing out of tune!!

So, when you hear a harp, keep in mind that we’ve done our best to be in tune, but temperature changes and humidity impact the harp a lot … and in case you didn’t know, we have a lot of strings to tune (in comparison to a guitar)!!

And finally, we say “stay tuned” which is a play on words of what is next and just as the joke says, we try our best to be in tune! 🙂
