In October 2022, I was asked to speak and play for the Interlude Music Program of Hospice of Cabarrus County, North Carolina. After I spoke, I began attending these monthly sessions (from October through March) and am in my third year of participating. Harpists from around the world gather on Zoom, both as speakers and as attendees. The topics are varied but always interesting, ranging from The Power of Sound in the NICU, Coping with Musician Injuries and How to Avoid Them, Music to Support a Meaningful Death, to Jewish and Arabic Music, etc. It is a great way to learn, be inspired and keep my creative juices flowing!

I feel fortunate and grateful to enjoy this professional development option. I know many healthcare professionals who dread getting their continuing education units (CEUs). Not me … I look forward to these sessions and am thankful for Hospice of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, for continuing to provide these learning opportunities.
